The hotel is right off the 5. It's not in walking distance of downtown ashland but a moments drive. This makes it a quiet location. It's so quiet that you rarely ever hear other guests in the rooms around you or in the hallway. It's an older hotel, so it needs some minor updates/fixes. For example, not all buttons on the phone work, controls in the secondary room only work sometimes, and the dresser doesn't stay closed. We switched rooms, and both rooms had the same issues (was not the reason why we switched). They were too minor for us to really care. AC works! What bothered me was minimal toiletries supplied when rooms are only cleaned every 36 hours. We were able to rectify this after talking to the front desk. Breakfast is bare, but at least there's breakfast.

Do not recommend booking. New owners do not have a handle on maintenance or service. Stayed here 3 nights. no lights in bedroom. had to use flashlight. wifi an issue. signal so weak, text messages had to be resent a number of times. no phone in room. There is a new menu at Luna, but old menu on website. Restaurant said I could come and get menu if I wanted one. This of course defeats the whole idea of room service. Tried to get assistance via text message i was sent at check-in, response told me to dial O on phone in room or call number if emergency. Neither option viable. Called front desk, was told to leave message. Staff too busy to answer. Finally got through. Mike at front desk said he would bring menu when he could. He could not leave front desk until lobby had no guests. refused to provide any idea as to when I would be able to order dinner. However, he did assure me that he would have time to respond to this review. given that I am diabetic, eating at regular intervals is necessary for blood sugar levels. I will have to problem solve dinner on my own.

We stayed at Ashland Hills Hotel & Suites in a double queen suite. The hotel itself has beautiful decor, the staff were helpful and kind and the pool/hot tub were a welcome spot in the hot evening. The room was well appointed with a kitchenette, comfortable lounge area and small table, the bedroom area was a good size for our family of four, and the bathroom was clean and also a good size. Included breakfast had a decent range of choices. I would recommend this for families and groups visiting the area, a short drive from downtown and comfortable rooms and great amenities

Ashland Hills Hotel & Suites is a great place to stay when visiting Ashland. It's clean, there is a nice bar and restaurant and it's just a short drive into downtown Ashland. The staff are friendly. There is a pool and hot tub - typical hotel size and configuration. In short, it's clean and comfortable, but not spectacular.

It's great for what it is, and has an adorable late 60s / early 70s design style (if you're into that). Issues: The digital TV 'reception' is terrible (keeps pixelating day and night). Also, good luck finding a luggage cart when you need it (allow plenty of time if you need to hunt one down - the front desk staff are no help at all - "... they're usually by the exits somewhere..."). :(
