Anderson Mall
What people are saying
I visited last year for photography content, if you’re looking for nostalgia then this is honestly the place for you. It wasn’t as empty when I went because of the holidays, but I’ve driven by at least once or twice to see the parking lot empty. There are a couple shops that are thriving without the big stores to compete with, which is nice to see. Overall would recommend a visit, but be wary as the area doesn’t see many customers these days.
No really well known and popular stores anymore. Only a few, mostly only go here for books a million, or Anderson Express in the food court. Need to step it up some in my opinion. Definitely could use the revenue and wouldn't mind dropping more money to newer and more popular shops. It's got too many closed shops these days.
Not what it used to be, but still very nice! Loved the "Home Cooked Food" restaurant in the food court! Delicious, and the staff member was great! Enjoyed looking around. Everything is well maintained. Found what we needed.
I go for Books A Million, and it's a favorite haunt of mine. Lots of parking. I also like the Bath and Body Works. It's a little dated, but it's nice to have an indoor mall that one can go to when it's hot or cold
Welcome to 2024, where there are over 300 abandoned malls in the U.S. and roughly 1,100 active ones. This isn't to say that most of the active ones aren't much better off than the abandoned ones. The mall is mostly a relic from a time before the digital age. How it still has a hold remains a mystery. You have 3 categories of malls: the dead ones, the living, and the ones on life support. It really feels like this one is one bad fiscal quarter away from disappearing. Many stores have packed up shop. The number of churches is seemingly rivaling that of stores. The food court is depressing. You can choose between Chinese or Chinese. Don't get me wrong, I love Chinese food, but these are the only 2 joints I ever see open. Good luck! I hope things turn around for you.
