This theater is horrible. There was no AC in the theater and they weren’t warning people or offering a refund. They were out of over half of the items on the menu. No pretzels, no pizza, no donut holes, no sliders. You could only get popcorn and candy. At this point I’m wondering why they even opened today. There was no syrup in either soda machine, so we chose to get juice but we wouldn’t have wasted money and ordered snacks at all had we known the theater had no AC. We were able to get a gift card not a refund for the tickets but not for the food. Visit this theater at your own discretion because we will not be back.
The theater is decent and the customer service has improved. My only complaint is the opening time. Our movie started at 11am and the doors didn’t open until 10:50am. The popcorn was cold and my cheese for my nachos was lukewarm. When I came back to the counter to ask for a hot cheese, the lady at the counter said “We just opened. I can warm it up for you “. She warmed my cheese but it still wasn’t hot like it should be. My advice to this location would be, to prepare the concession stand 45 mins ahead of time. I don’t know the routine but, I shouldn’t have to walk in to cold popcorn and lukewarm cheese for my nachos.
Went to go see the latest Mission Impossible. This theater since the renovation is clean. Although it is smaller than the other AMC theatres its nice and the reclining seats make it worth the visit. I had to sit in the handicap chair because the small theatre was almost full and the seat I had selected was too close to the screen. It was pleasant and almost to relaxing because I went to sleep for about 20 minutes of the movie LOL!
I really enjoy going to this theater. The other theaters in the area have declined a lot post Covid, but this AMC still provides good service. There’s always room for improvement but this location remains our first pick!
I may not go back to Rivertown AMC. Last Saturday, 07/13/24, I went to the ticket office to buy 2 tickets for the 1:10 pm showing of Bull Street. When I got there the employee told me that they were only showing the movie at 6:45 pm. and then she tried to convence me that I had looked at the wrong AMC theater. The employee finally checked her phone and confirmed that a showing for 1:10 was posted. She called the manager who said that they were only going to show the movie at 6:45 pm. I have had other examples of poor service at Rivertown AMC but this was the worse. I should have bee appologized to and given some accommodation, instead nothing was done. Based on their mistake will look for other theaters.
