Alyeska Resort
What people are saying
The resort itself is a beautiful place. The staff were amazing and the amenities were awesome. The rooms were very nice and have a few old, quirky things like push button light switches and a a button on the night stand that turns on the do not disturb light on outside the door. The decor is a bit dated with heavy woods, peeling wallpaper and water stained ceiling in the shower. It was a great place to hold our meeting.
It's an amazing place. The food was awful! We ate at the Forte, the Chicken Milanese was a joke! To make this at home would cost me at most $3.00, here it was $33. The price was expected but it had absolutely no seasoning, no taste, absolutely disgusting. It was cooked well but obviously they forgot to season it, even the bread crumbs they used were unseasoned! The side was a salad and drizzled with oil, also unseasoned. Another person in the group had the Halibut and Prawns. It was supposed to come with pasta but we were told it was changed and now comes on a salad, the same flavorless salad as the Chicken Milanese. The Prawns were fine, the Halibut was completely unseasoned. We were going to have the ribs, they were out. Also the tram hours were changed and it closed at 5 rather than 6. We all thought we'd be able to jump on and spend some time up the mountain but wasn't worth the $50 check in isn't until 4. We had only one night scheduled on our tour and were leaving before the tram opened at 10 am. Yes it's summer and it's a ski resort but just disappointing. Oh and don't expect coffee in the morning, everything is closed.
Beautiful resort. We have stayed at many nice resorts before. The small amenities in this room made it top notch. For example, the hair dryer, the loofah pad etc. Breakfast in the restaurant was nice with a good view. Highly recommend.
Pros The hotel is beautifully designed. Has a warm cozy and luxurious feel. There is a towel warmer in the bathroom. The Nordic spa was amazing. Very clean and nice staff. The views are stunning. The tram ride is totally worth it. The coffee and food at the cafe and forte was very good. Close to town where we went to get dinner. Cons We were unable to change the temp in out room. It's set at 72. We were told there is no a/c and we could use a fan and open the window. The window cracks open a few inches and it wasn't enough to cool the room down. The bed and pillows are too soft. There is no coffee station in the lobby. We are early risers and had to wait until 7 for the cafe to open.
We went to the resort as a visitor just to walk the grounds and ride the aerial tram. We saw signage for restaurants, skiing and other activities but we didn’t have time to explore those options. Everyone was friendly, the grounds are clean and pretty, and the location was easy to find. I would go back and stay longer, even overnight at the resort, if we find ourselves back in that area again. You won’t regret the views from the top of the tram.
