This was a lovely place to stay. My family and I spent 2 weeks in The Alex and we really enjoyed ourselves. Good central location. Close to the airport, a plethora of parks, bus roots, and restaurants. The breakfast is small, but free and the dinning area is very clean. The staff is always very polite and everyone I talked to or asked for help from went above and beyond to help solve my issues. The rooms were dated, but very clean, and way more spacious then the typical 2 queen room set up of most hotels. The house keeping staff does a great job, I think there should just be more of them. Sometimes they wouldn't show up to clean the room until dinner. Biggest downside for me was the lack of being pet friendly. They even refused to let me bring my (licensed) service animal, even when I showed the staff all of her paperwork. But with no other hotels available my dog had to sleep at a friend's place. I think with some updates, a few teachable moments to the staff, and a larger cleaning crew that this place could be even better.

I don't know if they put more efforts since the last few reviews but really, the place was fine. The room and sheets were clean, the bathroom and shower were great. The staff was doing their job. Without being the best hotel I've had for that price, I don't have anything to complain about.

Had my employer book this hotel because there were no other vacancies. Now I know why. Ugly and outdated building. Carpets and furniture had to be from the 80’s. Old, dingy paint, bed spread at least ten years old, hallways dirty and smelled like cigarettes. I forgot to put out the Do Not Disturb sign after I left on the first morning because I didn’t want housekeeping to come in but no worries because they never showed up. Nothing pleasant about this dump. Fire Department Crisis Intervention showed up to deal with lord knows what issue. When I checked out, I l was greeted by a desk clerk who was brushing her teeth and left her toothbrush in her mouth during the entire check out process. Nothing redeeming about this hell hole. Go buy a tent and sleep in a homeless encampment before you stay here.

There is a reason this hotel is the cheapest hotel near the airport. Rooms and lobby were dirty. Floor was sticky throughout the lobby. Tile base was off on the walls in the bathroom revealing what looks like mold on the walls. One window has a missing screen. We booked a room with 2 kings but only got a room with 2 queens. Roof looks like it needed replaced years ago. Overall a very disappointing experience.

Hotel is tired and dirty. The front desk staff never smiled or welcomed us and were very brusque. They had more interest in looking at their phones. The cleaning staff were very pleasant but their work leaves a lot to be desired. Our room had a horrible chemical smell, holes in the bathroom walls, cracked mirrors and sinks and the floors were filthy. It's near a Subway, a gas station that sells beer and not far from the airport.
