Good experience with Alamo Rent A Car at SFO airport. Car was ready on time and clean, full of gas. Was pleasantly surprised by getting a free upgrade from planned compact sedan to small SUV. Our family drove all around San Francisco in the new Nissan Rouge and was comfortable thoughout the 4 day rental period. Return process was equally smooth.
Horrible experience both with the car and customer service. I can only recommend not to chose Alamo. We booked a Sportscar Dodge Challenger and they only had one left. The one we got had already 45.000 miles and scratches everywhere. The interieur was in a horrific condition. Coffee and Milkshake spills all around the interieur. Everything was very sticky and dirty. We made pictures of it and send it on the same day to the customer service and asked for a clean car in exchange. We did not get a reply still after sending a couple of more mails and calls. When we returned the car we complained about the horrific condition of the car and the bad customer service. They seemd to understand the situation and offered a refund for both the car which was not in a condition according to the contract and the horrible customer service. I accepted a refund. They said because it was prepaid it takes a few days until I will receive the refund. After two months, hundreds of calls and emails I did not even get ONE reply. I am still waiting for my refund and nobody is reachable. This is definitly fraudulent behaviour.
Staff was very helpful with the reservation even though I didn't make it. The person who made the reservation flight was canceled and showed up next day. I got to choose from three minivans so I choose the same brand I drove so I would be familiar with the controls. It worked out perfectly for my golf group.
I would usually NEVER give a 5-star review for a rental car company, but this rental from Alamo was the best overall experience I have had in the past 10-15 years. 1. App allowed for me to fill in most of the info required for a rental in advance, expediting the overall process; 2. Alamo had a sufficient number of agents available upon arrival (unlike all other rental companies); 3. Because my info was supplied in advance, completing process with agent took around 5 minutes; 4. Employee in garage escorted us to rental car, which was brand new, clean, and ready to go; 5. Return process was seamless, smooth, and took
Easy to reserve a car. Skip-the-counter option allowed me to skip the long line! I got lucky and was able to pick a newer model of the car I reserved. Car was clean and easy to drive. Check out and return was very easy. My flight was delayed and I extended my return time easily over the phone. Taking the AirTrain to and from the airport was easy. This place makes rentals easy!!
