Arriving at Washington Dulles (IAD) usually signals the start of a busy work week, but this time, picking up my rental from Alamo was genuinely the smoothest part of the journey. Alamo is often known for its fantastic value, but the service at this location truly elevates the experience. Their dedication to making the process fast is clear: the self-service kiosks and streamlined pickup kept me out of the long lines, which is a huge relief after a long travel day. I secured a spot in the aisle quickly, and the car selection was excellent—clean, comfortable, and ready to go. However, the reason I'm writing this specific review is because of the phenomenal assistance provided by Amine from the counter staff. As I was confirming my paperwork, I realized I needed to add an authorized driver, something I usually forget until the last minute. Amine handled this detail with incredible efficiency and grace. He immediately processed the necessary identification, and made the contract update on the spot. He was exceptionally friendly, had a great sense of humor, and made me feel completely taken care of. He didn't just process a request; he made sure I was confident and informed before driving away. That level of patient, personal service is rare and deeply appreciated. I was happy with my Alamo experience. The pick-up and drop-off were very easy, and they didn't try to talk me into additional coverage or unnecessary costs. Car was clean and reliable.
Had a terrible experience with Alamo in Dulles airport. The license verifying ID was down, so the manager refused us service, even though I had a VALID LICENSE from my home country. We had prepaid for the car rental and the manager assured 100% that we would get out money back, as they were not able to provide the service. It has been a month and ALAMO is refusing to reimburse us for the car rental that we didn’t receive. I sincerely felt that I was being racially profiled by the manager, who literally said we could try ANY OTHER car rental service in the airport, since they refused service, despite having a valid license. I really felt this was a scam. I would highly advice to stay away from this company if you are an international visiting the USA.
I rented a car at Dulles international airport. Best customer service I have experienced in years. Helpful , knowledgeable and super friendly. Solomon and Ayman were great! Wow, did I feel valued as a customer. Kudos to Alamo! Well done!
