I regret to inform potential renters that Alamo has set a new standard for incompetence and customer mistreatment. Despite booking through a third-party platform, they had no qualms about taking our money. However, upon arrival, we were informed that, apparently, we aged a month too young to rent a car. Not only were we denied the service we paid for, but any hope of a refund was dashed by their convenient scapegoating of the third party. To add insult to injury, the manager, Mike, displayed a shocking lack of professionalism, choosing to be rude and dismissive rather than address the situation with even a modicum of respect. Save yourself the headache and avoid Alamo at all costs.
I gave 2 stars because the car was good, but afterwards I felt not happy with the service so that is why I gave no more stars. We picked up our car on June 25, and however the employee at the desk was not very interested in doing his job, we sat in our car quite quickly. When we went to the exit, there were some problems. We received a car with a number plate from a different state, and the employee at the exit had to call her manager When this lady came, she also saw still some yellow writing on our window, and she told us she was sorry and thought it was unacceptable we received this car in this state. The manager apologised a few times and told us we would receive a free tank and could return the car without a full tank. It took a while, but finally, we could leave, and the lady at the exit also confirmed we would receive a free tank. When returning the car, we were told we would receive a note by email when something would be charged. We never received an email, but a charge of $67,84 was made from our credit card. I don't know what was charged (it was no toll because this was charged later). Our travel agency made a request over 3 weeks ago to ask for the note, but they still have not received an answer. I am very disappointed afterwards about Alamo.
Very disappointed with this Alamo rental. I rent from Alamo multiple times in business trips. This time, as usual I fuel up the tank and return the car. Then I noticed Alamo charged extra $13.93 on my card as refueling. I called customer service, they refund me, then today they charged $13.93 again. I will never rent from this company. Update: Jun.27 I sent email to the address provided in Alamo's reply, no response for 2 weeks. No refund no solution. Cannot trust entire Enterprise rental.
We had a HORRIBLE experience at Alamo Rental in Newark around 6PM on July 3rd due to the manager and an employee. Despite Newark not being busy—not a single other customer but myself—the attitude from the beginning was pure unpleasantness. It was so incredibly unpleasant that we swore we would never do business with Alamo again, and I rent cars often for work. However, our opinion changed when we met Frank Kinderman, the manager of MSP Alamo. Frank was an absolute delight and a true brand ambassador. He went above and beyond to fix a problem that wasn't his to fix. Frank was solutions-oriented and customer-centric, which is rare in 2024! Thanks to Frank and his entire team, we are now believers in Alamo again. Newark, please take notes from Frank and his team—they were fantastic!
Me and my dad had a trip planned for the weekend, it was listed we would get the vehicle we booked or something similar. The vehicle on the website wasn’t available, but Tanaisha helped us out by going above and beyond. My dad and I hadn’t traveled together in a long time and she made sure our rental made our trip a little more special. She was super efficient and gave us clear directions. We were in and out of there in 10 minutes!!
