La Quinta offered a spacious room and complimentary breakfast. The friendly hotel reception made my stay enjoyable. Staff left personalized welcome notes in the room, which as sweet. However, I do believe that a deep cleaning is needed for the bathroom and room, as I noticed some stains on the toilet and fragments of whatever on the carpet. Nonetheless, it was an okay experience overall! Thank God I didn't have to spend more than a night.

First, the good. Front desk service here was always friendly. The free hotel shuttle goes to and from the airport, but also to and from the Tucson VA hospital, which is helpful, because business at the VA was what brought my husband and I out to visit Tucson. The best thing about the room was that this place has foam pillows instead of feather ones, which I appreciate. Hotel toiletries usually suck, but it seems that La Quinta partners with Dove for their soap and shampoo, so these were good, too. Now, the bad: The room wasn't nearly as clean as I'd have liked it to be, especially the bathroom sink, toilet, and tub. The mattress was not at all comfortable. You can tell they haven't rotated the mattresses in a long time, (and likely never done so) because there was quite literally a sizable dent in it where people would sleep. I didn't feel like the bed linens were very clean, either, which was disconcerting. In short, this place was okay: not horrible, but not great either. My husband and I will likely be back in Tucson later in the year for business, and I don't think we'll stay here again. I think we'll do our homework better, and try to find a nicer hotel.

The rooms are spacious and the beds are very comfy. But I really don’t know the last time this place was deep cleaned. It felt and looked grimy all over. The signage telling you where your rooms are is hard to find. They are allegedly pet friendly but there is no designated dog area, just a big deserted lot in the back with no grass. Breakfast is the worst offense. Gross sausage, hard boiled eggs, standard extremely thick waffle batter. Dining area was somehow packed. The elevators desperately need some work done. They are loud and shaky. The room took forever to cool down as well. Everything was fairly quiet and it seems close to the airport if you need that, but otherwise, it’s a miss.

It has a beautiful court yard around the pool. The convenience of being one of the closest hotels to the airport can't be beat. The rooms are nice and roomy. We stayed there for five nights, the only thing to be aware of is that house keeping will not come and clean up your room every night unless you request it to be done.

I've been staying with La Quinta for the past 16 years and I've finally come to a clear conclusion. If the building is the old Spanish style building, stay away. It's going to be run down, stink to high heaven and generally be a less than enjoyable experience. This location is no different. Too many pot heads smoking out back mixed with the stench of sulfur water that they won't bother to filter. The furniture is too old. My door had a label stuck on it indicating that this door latch has to be pulled up and not pushed down because it's half broken. Breakfast area is terrible and the people prepping the food are lazy. Pay a few dollars more and go to a nicer hotel up the road.
