I will never rent from this company again. The website had one price for five days and then you get your invoice for something different. I understand the taxes and state fees but should go from $300 something to $500 something, this crazy! We get to San Diego and the shuttle is not available so they send us an Uber and Also customers can’t use their restroom. Never again! They are not friendly or welcoming.

This place is a scam. I reserved the vehicle online and when we got there, they didn't have what we reserved. We get a different vehicle and they ask if we want insurance. We tell them yes. However, apparently there are two insurance options which we did not know. We get charged for the complete insurance, which is $250. When the agent asked if we wanted to receipt and if he could just email it, we said sure. When we do review it after we're out of the rental location we see all these extra charges. I call customer service and they tell me it's our fault for agreeing to complete coverage when we weren't offered a standard coverage. How am I supposed to take an option that I didn't know existed or that there were two options and I wanted the cheaper one? It's complete garbage that you think you're getting a good deal but then you get scammed by getting charged for things and not being told how much those things are. I feel like he wanted to email it to us so that we wouldn't see it until after we left.

Car was good but for the price, NOT worth it at all. You'd be better off using Turo or a well known car rental company. Original price listed for a rental was around $230 for 5 days, additional fees came out to around $256 so the total was almost $500. They don't even give you the car with a full tank of gas. Their "shuttle" pick up to get to their building is having you get picked up by an Uber once you arrive.

Absolute scam! Rented a car in san diego for 7 days. Lost my $200 deposit and was charged an extra $70 for excessive sand removal! Told me I should have vaccumed it before I brought it back to them! If a ptoffesional car rental place that is located near the coast can't handle vacuuming sand after vehicle is returned and charge $270 dollars to clean it than that is what called a scam!! Good luck on getting shut down with all these low reviews!! Hope it was worth all those extra charges you scammed people out of!!

BEWARE! I rented a car from Car Rental Cafe 4 months ago and have been trying to get back my deposit ever since. They consistently give me the run-around, transferring me to "a manager" who never answers or calls back. Unless you want to forfeit your deposit, I would take your business elsewhere.
