I believe there are 2 Mexican restaurants in South Fork, we tried the other a few days ago and were pleased with the decision. Ramon's had good food (tamales and chile rellenos were just okay). The chips and salsa were really good, salsa brought a sweat to the forehead, but very good. Had to go to the bar and ask for soft drink refills, also had to ask a passing waiter for more salsa and chips, service was sub par. Prices are reasonable and portions are generous. We commented that we'd go back to the other restaurant next time.

The woman who greeted me was super nice. The home salsa is spicy, which I love. The chips were fresh and hot. The enchiladas were delicious. The location is beautiful. The price was fair. What more can I ask for?

Last weekend, we decided to visit Ramon's Mexican Food Restaurant, known for its bustling atmosphere. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the friendly staff, which made a positive first impression. Despite the restaurant being quite busy, the wait to be seated was a reasonable 15 minutes. Once seated, we placed our orders and unfortunately experienced a significant wait of over 30 minutes for our food to arrive. While we understood the restaurant was busy, this delay was somewhat disappointing. The food itself was underwhelming. It tasted decent but lacked the bold flavors typically associated with authentic Mexican cuisine. As someone who grew up enjoying truly authentic Mexican food, I found the dishes to be somewhat bland and lacking in excitement. In summary, while Ramon's Mexican Food Restaurant offers a friendly atmosphere and decent service, the food falls short of delivering the authentic and flavorful experience one might expect from a Mexican restaurant.

This is a great place to eat. Staff is friendly and courteous. It is very busy because there are not many places open after 5pm in Creede and you have to drive to South Fork for this place. Worth the wait and the drive. Be patient they are under staffed, which is understandable given the remote location.

We finally had the time to stop in here! The staff was very friendly & the food quite delicious. My hubs & I split the carnitas platter to save room for sopapillas 😉 They must slow roast the pork, cut it & fry it 🤗 So good! The sopas were perfect, some of the best I have had in a while! Certainly hope to stop again 😉
