The customer service at this rental car is the worst I've ever experienced. Despite not being a busy day, we had to wait in line for over 1.5 hours to get our car. The agents took around 10 minutes per customer, which is significantly slower than other rental services like AVIS, National, and Enterprise, which only take 2-3 minutes per customer. I do not recommend this company at all!!!! It's a waste of money and an absolute waste of time.

This location deserves zero stars. At the time I am writing this review it is 8:46 pm. We arrived here at 7:40. There is one person working. We have a reservation and are only halfway through the line. The worker is spending close to 10 minutes with each person at the desk. Do not come here if you want your rental car in a reasonable amount of time.

This was a very mediocre experience renting a car from this budget. The line to get the car was 30 people deep when surround car rentals had no line. Then the lady had me sign for the fuel charge stating if I did not bring the car back full they would charge me over 70 dollars to fill the car. So I brought the car back full, it states that on their receipt, and I still got charged the 71 dollars to fill the car. Customer service required so much personal information to “prove” I put gas in the car before arriving to the airport. I finally got my money back but it seems like a full on scam that they hope people won’t notice or fight to get their money back. I would not recommend renting from budget.

I have to go through Budget at ORD very often due to my company's policy. More often than not, it's a poor experience. If at all possible, I will fly to a different airport with a better budget branch. On my last visit, my flight arrived late at night, so I arrived at the counter at 2 AM. Despite taking my money, they did not have a car ready for me, so I had to wait until well past 4 AM for people to begin returning cars. Very often, this budget branch will double book a car, which is a healthy walk from the counter. If this happens, you need to go all the way back to the counter to get assigned a new car. Once when this happened, they made me get in the back of the line and wasted another hour of my time. The cars are fine enough, no complaints there. Although they will often run out of the car type I reserved and I will be forced to take an EV or pickup truck. Lines are usually longer than the other rental desks and move slowly due to inadequate staffing. Overall, very disorganized, very willing to oversell cars, and very, very understaffed. Edit after my visit today: arrived at the spot where my car was supposed to be, and there was no car there. There was also another person assigned to the missing car. We were forced to get in the back of the line and wait to get this resolved. Ridiculous that when budget screws up, they punish the customer for their mistakes. Absolutely will not be renting ever again.

DO NOT WHATEVER YOU DO rent through this Budget! Unfriendly staff to begin with, had to move me to a truck as a compact car wasn’t available. It gets worse though, there is no form to fill out to document the condition beforehand. Car had a strong air freshener smell and you could tell it was masking the smoke from a previous renter. Thought they cleaned the car after the previous renter and that it would be documented. However, By the end of my 3 days the air freshener smell was gone, i had to suffer from the smoke smell. I return the truck and get home and they send me an email with a $450 charge for cleaning due to the smoke smell. SHADY BUSINESS PRACTICES!
