Best to get a reservation, especially dinner Saturday evening 😁 Food is superb 👍 Service is attentive and non-intrusive. Can get loud, it seems the place is small but it's not. Party hearty vehicles on Michigan Avenue with full bass will drown out all conversation, and there's no way to defend against 🤣 Come hungry and be ready to eat some great food. Portion sizes seem small and land in your tummy like mashed potatoes 😋😋 you're going to be wheeled out of there in a wheelbarrow.

Wow! This place is fantastic! I was working in Chicago for the week and came here for lunch. Luckily, I was in a suit because I'd say almost every man in there was wearing a tie. It is not pretentious, but it is definitely upscale. But everything was perfect! The ambiance, the service, and especially the food. Oh my goodness the food was so darn good! You will love this place! There is outside eating if you're looking to enjoy the vibe.

Overall, it was a very good experience. The food was excellent, and the wine selection was good. The restaurant had a great atmosphere, perfect for anyone who loves Italian cuisine with a decent wine selection. Despite being busy, the service was exceptional. The servers worked together seamlessly to serve customers quickly, and I especially appreciated the consistent attention from the staff member refilling my water. I recommend this restaurant if you’re a fan of Italian food and great wine. I’ll definitely be returning!

A very distinctive establishment located in a busy area, with an excellent menu, a good selection of drinks, all served by a competent service team. I especially enjoyed the rigatoni, absolutely outstanding, and the calamari which, with very little batter, comes out flavorful. There were a few misses that were substantial, some easy to fix: a) the hostess appeared "out of it" on our visit of 7/18; b) the beef carpaccio is very impressive, but way too salty; c) the assistant waiter inadvertently refilled a lemonade with water before we noticed it (twice): adding a slice of lemon may help increase the awareness of drinks distinction; d) I was flabbergasted to observe waiting staff walking by a table where a napkin had visibly fallen to the ground, a good 15 min until I intervened, asking the waiter to bring a clean napkin, to give it to the woman and collect the one on the ground; e) unless you enjoy extreme vehicle traffic close by, cars and buses constantly racing and honking, sit inside.

Acanto is one of my favorite lunch spots in downtown Chicago! The fresh pasta made in-house is nothing short of divine, perfectly capturing the essence of authentic Italian cuisine. They also offer great daily lunch specials that are always delicious! The wine selection here is excellent, featuring a variety that suits any taste, and their hospitality is truly remarkable, making every visit feel like a special occasion. It's always a treat to come back. Don’t forget to try their house-made ice cream—it’s heavenly! The cocktails are expertly mixed and are a perfect complement to the meal. Acanto consistently delivers a fantastic dining experience, making it a must-visit for anyone looking for a top-notch Italian meal in Chicago.
