5's all across the board!!! We are mad that we have stayed in Dunsmier/Mt. Shasta 3 times and never ate here! It smelled amazing when we got out of the car. Each and every one of us LOVED our food. No complaints whatsoever. My sister is a burger connoisseur and she gave her burger a 10 out of 10! The woman who took our order, Sarah was amazing! She was very charismatic and funny and knew the menu like the back of her hand. The restaurant was decorated with colorful art from local artists. The perfect balance of old and new aesthetic.

I had been wanting to come in since we got our cabin in Dunsmuir. Well I finally did and it was beyond expectations. Burgers look exactly like the pics, stacked tall and juicy, great flavors. I got the Mr. Sexy with pastrami, holy fudge, their pastrami was fire. Fries were bomb and if you go, you can't leave without the sticky buns, loaded with amazing bourbon caramel sauce. I'm a fan for life!

Great place with fun vibe and enthusiastic staff. Enjoyed the burgers, quite a bit of original flavors and combinations. Fries are good. Wife loved the cinnamon roll. Beer selection was great. Right off highway. Friendly place.

The burgers and beer at Yak's on the 5 are dangerously delicious. Stop by if you are looking for food so good that your eyes will roll. Additionally, this place has an expertly curated beer selection. IMO, try the Morning After burger with the pickled jalapenos - it was recommended by the owner and is incredible. The garlic fries were also a nice treat. And the vanilla stout on tap is a collaboration between the owner and a local brewery - fantastic. I cannot recommend this place enough.

During our recent road trip through Northern California, starting in Sacramento and heading towards Grant Pass, we made an unforgettable stop at Yaks Restaurant in Mount Shasta. We first heard about this gem from a tour guide at the nearby caverns, who highly recommended it. Upon arriving, we were warmly greeted by the owner’s daughter, whose lively personality instantly made us feel at home. She enthusiastically shared the fascinating history of Yaks, detailing how it was opened by her parents and is now run by her and her husband. This personal touch added a charming and familial atmosphere to our visit. The highlight of our meal was undoubtedly the burgers. As you can see from the pictures, they are not just food but artistic masterpieces. Each burger was crafted with care, featuring fresh ingredients and unique flavor combinations that tantalized our taste buds. The presentation was equally impressive, making it clear that Yaks takes pride in both the quality and the creativity of their dishes. In addition to the outstanding food, the overall ambiance of Yaks was delightful. The rustic yet cozy decor, coupled with the friendly staff, created a welcoming environment that made our dining experience truly special. If you find yourself driving through Mount Shasta, a visit to Yaks Restaurant is a must. It’s a perfect stop to enjoy delicious food, learn a bit of local history, and experience genuine hospitality. We left Yaks with full stomachs and happy hearts, grateful for the recommendation and eager to return on our next trip through the area.
