Great convenient inexpensive way to get around Minneapolis & St. Paul. Two lines; Green Line goes all the way to St.Paul and the Blue Line goes all the way to Mall of America. Both have many stops along the way including the VA Hospital, Fisher House etc… Hot day today but nice and cold riding the Metro! Easily accessible near Nicolett Mall If you are staying downtown, the Blue line train conveniently goes directly to the mall as it’s the end of the line so you won’t get off at the wrong stop. Trains run practically every 5-10 minutes all day long until midnight. Train fare for an all day 24 hour pass is only $4.50 and can be used til midnight! Train tickets can be purchased at any train stop via cash or card. It’s on the honor system and there is no train operator coming around checking.

The train in the city is an adventure of it's own. So many locals write this off as a dangerous transportation to use. I've only met nice people using this system and had no issues. The train was quick and cheap for getting around.

Dirty, smelly panhandler and crackhead central. Slightly better than the US Bank and Warehouse District stops, but that isn't saying much.

We were visiting from out of town and used the light rail to get back and forth to several places including the airport. It was super easy to get tickets and figure out where to get on and off the train. Good job, Minneapolis!
