I was quoted 124 for 24 hour rental. I dropped the car off the same day and put key in the overnight box. I got my final receipt and it was for $184! Fuel tank was filled. No issues. They just upped the rate and showed I checked it in the next morning LATE. Not to mention the car they rented me was dirty. I will Never rent from them again. Do not recommend at all. I have never had problems with Hertz or Enterprise, but they had no cars when I needed them. Probably because they are true with their quotes. **UPDATE** I just called customer service and I was told they "Upgraded" my vehicle, because the one I requested was unavailable. I was not told this at the counter. All other companies I have rented from in the past will waive the upgrade fee if your car is not available. Shady business practices! Beware!

I reserved a car for 3 days totaling $228. When I landed the airport it was closing and I could tell the staff wanted us out so they could get home. I walk to the car rental counter and during the transaction I am asked if I want insurance. I am told I will be liable for any and all damages to the car without it. I ask “how much for the insurance?” I am told just $33.00. I say out loud to the staff member. $33.00 over 3 days that’s $11 a day right? Staff member confirms and smiles. I rent the car, use it for 3 days return it as it was, full tank, great condition. I’m charged an $338 a week later. (An additional $100) I call budget rental and ask them why the charge? They tell me the insurance was $33 dollars a day. I dispute this and say I was told it was $33 for 3 days. And that I could pay the $33 not $100. They immediately go from pleasant to lawyer mode and tell me I signed a contract. I inform them the airport was closing, I was under pressure to get out of there quickly as there were people behind me and that their staff lied to me. They didn’t care and were unwilling to work with me whatsoever. These guys are 100% ok with lying and taking advantage of you. $33 a day for car insurance on a Kia Soul is criminal and they know it.

Most people would love to get an upgrade when available. But a last minute trip for a funeral was unplanned and a financial strain. 20 mpg is not an economical. I had requested one that would have offered 35 mpg. This has happened every time with different companies. Yes driving a jeep wrangler was something I hadn’t done but this trip was not for fun. But at the end of the day. God is good and kept me safe. That’s what is most important. I wish the websites could be more accurate on what’s available.

Initially rented a car for 10 days, had to extend the rental 2 extra days and my total went from $426 to over $900. When picking the car up we were told that we were getting a free upgrade, and “special” rate. We asked to opt out of insurance coverage due to having our own but the man at the counter told us that he was giving us a special rate and waiving the charge for insurance, and waiving the extra driver fee, so our total for 10 days would be $565. On top of all of this the car had a warning light come on the 1st day telling us to stop and check oil level, only to find out that there was practically no oil in the car, roadside assistance told us to add the recommended engine oil so we had to buy engine oil at a gas station, we also called the rental location and they told us to bring the receipts with us when we return the car. Once we returned after extending for 2 days they quickly printed our receipt before we could even make it inside after parking only to find out we were charged an extra $411 for insurance. They told us they can’t refund us because they already printed the receipt so if we want reimbursement for the oil, or insurance charges that we would have to call the 1-800 number. Thankfully after explaining what happened to customer service they issued a refund for the $411. I have never had an issue with Avis or Budget at this location, the cars are always nice and clean, but I feel like the person working was being dishonest and trying to rip us off. I know now to always triple check everything before renting and make sure I have everything in writing.
