A wonderful dinning experience, my wife loved the seafood platter and my southern fried chicken & slaw was as good as my grandma's!! the key lime and pecan pies were the best we've ever had!! Our server Trafton was amazing, good job, we will dine there again

My husband has been a fan of this restaurant for decades. We had not been to Hatteras in about a decade and returned this week. The Quarterdeck was on our foodie list, we knew it was a gem that got overlooked by many tourists. When we arrived we saw the terrific remodel and updating of the interior. We chose a booth and were quickly met for drink orders. I got the bar special, a piña colada that was large and refreshing. My husband got the Hatteras style clam chowder, and I ordered the crab stuffed mushrooms as appetizers. The chowder is a broth based soup, with potatoes and clams, very unique and tasty. This rendition was a wee bit bland, unlike our memories. My mushrooms were fresh, full of crabmeat in a flavorful stuffing and the perfect starter. The entree menu is enormous but we had been craving the crab stuffed flounder since the last time we enjoyed it. I got the broiled rendition and hubby picked fried. They came with 2 sides, and we chose a salad bar trip as one. The salad bar has so many super fresh veggies, and a solid macaroni salad, with homemade dressings. Soon, our anticipated flounders arrived and we were both very pleased and satisfied. The fish is cooked perfectly, somehow while the stuffing is hot and savory. Portions are smaller than we recalled but I consider it a plus, it was plenty of food and no waste. We saved room for dessert, I chose the house made key lime pie, which had a perfect meringue, and excellent flavor. They also serve hot fudge cake, which was on the hubby's radar, he got that and the fudge sauce is the star. Service and atmosphere were on point, casual, with an incredible view of the sound. This was quite romantic at the time as the sun set outside the big picture window in back. This is not a big tourist destination, but it is a place the locals love and so much better than some of the tourist traps.

We were starving after a long day of sightseeing and skipping lunch. This restaurant was one of the few still open this time of year, so I’m sure they were booked up for later, but they provided a table for us. Wonderful friendly server, (who was covering the entire dining room) and absolutely delicious food. We did the seafood combo. Oysters, shrimp and fresh flounder ( not pictured). For a starter we had the crab stuffed mushrooms- SO good. Their hush puppies are also wonderful. And bonus- very good coffee! We’d definitely go back.

This casual dinning place has a great view of the outdoor from the large Bay window. We ordered crab cake sandwich and the fried flounder platter. The crab cake was tasty without a lot of fillers and the flounder was fresh and tender. They also have a very special tartar sauce that goes well with fish or crab cakes. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive. The price is reasonable for our lunch and it's a wonderful experience.

The Quarterdeck Restaurant was a great restaurant and you should definitely stop and get a bite to eat. 1 gauge flounder sandwich one. Voice to sandwich and the other I'm not sure. I got an order of chicken wings and a piece of key lime pie. The wait staff all female where are fantastic and very good looking.
