I am giving this place a one start due to their lack of acknowledgement on their mistakes. The location is beautiful with amazing views of the mountains. The hotel itself from the outside is beautiful. That's about it. The service at this place needs a lot of work starting with management. After leaving an item behind, I went through their process of shipping my item back to me. That same day, I received an email from them directly saying that my item was shipped out. Come to find out they never shipped out my item on the day that I called and paid for, but shipped it out 5 days later. When I called to ask about my item, the lady is spoke to on the phone seemed to be repeating words from someone who could be heard in the same office saying that "no one was working therefore your item could not bye shipped" You mean to tell me that for 5 days no one in the place was working? They were very dismissive and unprofessional. The breakfast was nothing special for the price, you can get better food at a diner. After we checked in we found dirty unswear right in front of the cleaning person who had to help us get into the room because none of our 20 room keys worked, that was another issue.

Wow. This was our first time staying here and must say it was amazing Staff and service were friendly, attentive, and professional Our room was spacious, beautifully historic, and clean. The hotel grounds are absolutely breathtaking. The pool is great as well as the activities center, farm, and golf course. The restaurants had great food. 5 well deserved stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We recently stayed here as part of a group vacation with friends. Pros: Incredible 360 degree views of the mountains around the hotel. The grounds are well maintained and so is the building. We enjoyed our room - the bed was very comfortable and the A/C worked well. The bathroom was about what we expected for an old grand hotel - there wasn't any counter space to speak of, but it was clean and the shower worked great. The golf course was a fun little course and push carts are included in the price. The price to play was very reasonable and we had no trouble getting tee times. We loved the Llama visit! The outdoor pool was clean and not too cold and there were plenty of towels. There were some staff who were very friendly - the person who works in the gift shop was incredibly sweet and funny. There were also two gentlemen working the bar that were also really fun to talk to. The hotel common areas had plenty of seating and they had board games in the game rooms, the game room downstairs had a pool table, ping pong table and air hockey. There was also a pool table in the golf clubhouse. Cons: Really the biggest con was the clear lack of appropriate staffing and/or training of the staff. There is only one bar and the bar staff were either completely overwhelmed (because they had to take care of drinks, food and apparantly room service as well) or they were not trained (couldn't really order anything other than beer or wine since they didn't know how to make mixed drinks). There was only the buffet option for breakfast, which was fine for us because we had breakfast credits, but not really worth paying for. The food was decent, but nothing that memorable. The website says there is food service on the veranda, but that was not accurate. There was a limited menu available at the bar if you weren't eating at the main restaurant. We did eat at the main restaurant the first night and it was good, but the rest of the time we were there we either ordered out or went out to eat for both lunch and dinner since there weren't a lot of options at the main restaurant. Ordering room service wasn't really that great - my son tried to get room service and was told it would be faster to come down to the bar and pick it up. The wine restaurant was closed during the week and so was the pool bar. We were kind of surprised since we were there 4th of July week. Some of the activities (wine/beer tasting) advertised were not available. We were told that the marketing team "messed up" and that they don't offer those until later in the summer. They had some kind of water issue and had the water shut off in the rooms for a good part of the day one of the days were were there. We never really got any communication from the hotel on this and found out through the other people we were with. Thankfully we were out most of the day, but it would have been a pretty big inconvenience if we had planned to stay at the hotel that day. It was something that should have warranted a discount or resort credit but we didn't receive anything. One of the members of our party was struck by a golf ball in the head while sitting on the front porch and clearly the staff were not trained well in how to deal with any kind of medical event. There was also no follow up by the hotel to see how she was doing after she went to the ER. When I compare the experience here to some of the other grand hotels I've stayed in (Mount Washington, The Balsams, Wentworth by the Sea), I'd put it in the middle. It has the potential to move up to #1 if they just get more staffing and set up better protocols for communication and get everyone trained properly.

Gorgeous views and a lot of promise if only upkeep was better. We checked into our first room and one bed was broken, literally tipped right over (luckily husband got on first and not kids). Second room one of the shades didn’t close all the way which made it fun trying to get our kids to sleep. Both rooms had a horrible musty smell. Tried to use air hockey table in game room but it was broken. We walked in and immediately out of the movie theater as it smells so moldy and musty it seemed actually unhealthy. They need air filters down there. Very limited restaurant menu, no great options for families. Front desk staff very blah. Breakfast buffet was the best part of our stay.

Gorgeous resort. I love the style. My family had a great time there. It's old fashioned, but with modern amenities. The staff is great. The food at the Harvest Tavern was excellent. The game room and the movie theater were really nice touches.
