Short trip, but I got much more room than I expected - desk space, two TVs, fridge, microwave, and even a stove top. If I had to stay long term, this is a strong consideration, especially with a short drive to so much on post. Staff was pleasant and efficient. Internet was plenty fast for streaming. Clean rooms and comfy beds. Still was odd to have a locking toilet paper dispenser, but that's not worth docking a star.

Staff when I checked in was great. Super convenient location on base. Rooms were taken good care of and clean. The furnishings are rather dated but hey I didn’t care. Beds weren’t the most comfortable for me as I prefer a firmer bed due to my back problems, but it wasn’t horrible, just super plush where you sink in a lot.

The Holiday Inn Express located on Fort Knox offers several benefits and some potential drawbacks for long-term stays: ### Positive Aspects: 1. **Convenience**: Its location on Fort Knox makes it highly convenient for military personnel, families, and business travelers needing proximity to the base. 2. **Comfortable Rooms**: The rooms are generally well-maintained, featuring comfortable beds, modern furnishings, and quality linens. 3. **Amenities**: Guests can enjoy amenities such as a complimentary breakfast, free Wi-Fi, an on-site business center, a fitness center, and a pool. 4. **Extended Stay Discounts**: Long-term guests might benefit from discounted rates or special packages. 5. **Friendly Staff**: Reviews often commend the helpful and accommodating nature of the hotel staff. 6. **Cleanliness**: The hotel usually maintains high cleanliness standards, which is important for extended stays. ### Negative Aspects: 1. **Limited Kitchen Facilities**: Rooms may not have fully equipped kitchens, which could be a disadvantage for extended stays. 2. **Noise Levels**: Being situated on a military base, noise from base activities or traffic might be a concern, depending on the room’s location. 3. **Space Constraints**: Some guests might find the rooms a bit small, particularly for long-term stays where additional space for personal belongings is needed. 4. **Variable Internet Speed**: While free Wi-Fi is available, the speed and reliability can sometimes be inconsistent, affecting work or streaming needs. 5. **Limited Dining Options**: On-site dining options may be limited, and dining out frequently can add to the cost over an extended stay. 6. **Occasional Maintenance Issues**: As with any hotel, there may be occasional maintenance issues or discrepancies in room conditions. Overall, the Holiday Inn Express on Fort Knox provides various conveniences for long-term stays, though it’s important to consider these aspects based on your specific needs and preferences.

The room itself is fine, but I was just surprised that for a hotel on post there were ZERO kitchen amenities, like plates, silverware, glasses, cooking things, etc. So, it’s fine if you’re here for a couple nights, but if you’re there for a while it’s kind of a pain. Maybe ACS has kitchen sets to check out? Also, the gym isn’t great and the one treadmill doesn’t work well, but it’s an Army base, so there are other full sized gyms to go to.

Great place to lay one's head during a long journey. The breakfast is decent and the servers are attentive. Overall nifty place to spend few days while in town.
