It’s disgusting to see people complain about gas prices here. Everyone is right. It’s expensive. But take your own advice and go somewhere else… 30 minutes away! If you can’t afford an extra $50 in fuel, stop traveling 100 miles into Death Valley to get fuel.

In Death Valley National Park when gas prices jumped! Understand to some degree why prices jumped and not in best location for getting gas. Paid $8.75 per gallon of regular gas and $150 later for almost a fillup. Would not think much until stopping at the two other gas stations in the park at $6.50 per gallon for regular gas. My question for Furnace Creek gas station: Are we price gouging? On our way back past a week later price at Furnace Creek was $8.94 per gallon for regular while the other station unchanged!!!

Gas was the most expensive I have ever seen. But considering it's in the middle of nowhere and you don't really have a choice when you are out in the middle of the desert you may have to just do it. It's near a hotel for people visiting death valley. The hotel and gas station is in the most convenient place for visiting death valley national park so you should expect to have to stop here if you visit the main attractions.

GREEDY RIPOFF...We have been going to Death Valley for 50+ years, and this is the first year the Furnace Creek gas prices have been so outrageous. The owner is simply being greedy! Save money by going other places: $5.12 for regular at Stovepipe Wells, reasonable prices at Panamint Springs, and $4.18 for mid-grade at Beatty, NV.

Definitely expensive as others have noted. Stovepipe Wells, also in Death Valley National Park and about 20-30 minutes away, had gas for 3.96 vs 5.17 here. Surprised that the NPS doesn’t have something in the concession contract to prevent this kind of price gouging. I get that it’s a remote location but if another provider in the same park can sell fuel for over $1 less per gallon then something shady is going on.
