I stumbled upon The Book Shop in a search, as my town no longer has solely book shops. During my second visit, a small family came in. The oldest child said she had started collecting dictionaries. I forgot her reason, but how cool is that?! The owner was overjoyed to hear this, and he practically leapt from behind the desk. He grabbed a rather large hardcover dictionary from the stacks, and gave it to her. At no charge. The fact that this made her happy and that she would gain knowledge was, in my opinion, plenty of payment. I will definitely be going back. This shop has heart.

Great addition to downtown Batavia! Huge selection with owners who know their business well. Nice poetry selection. I highly recommend!

This shop is never open, when it is, the owner is hungover and disengaged. This guy even has the gall to ask for $20,000 in donations to keep this place open with no explanation of where the money is even going. Hard pass.
