The new app paybyphone was pretty easy to use, which is good because it was the only option.

Parking is scarce the upper parking lot is a long slog down hill and a pain in the you know what going up hill. It cost 7 dollars for cars for one whole day. The upper parking Level does have spaces for RVs but the cost for the day is about 50 bucks There is a self parking machine where you use your credit or debit card and then place the printed ticket on your dash board. If you have a wheelchair it is best you go all the way towards the ferry where there is handicapped parking...for a fee

Seems like there'll routinely be plenty of overflow capacity at this huge lot. The walk to the terminal will be pretty long and rough for anyone carrying much luggage, especially rolling items since much of the trail is gravel. Criminal activity seems unlikely, but the apparent lack of security surveillance was still worrisome. This lot may not the the right choice for a quick visit as there's no option to pay for less than a full day.

Easy parking. Use the app based payment to save you time your first time and all others after. Minimum no matter is a full day and the cost isn't too high.

Reservations needed? Ok, I'll make one when I get left behind one night, I guess. No other way to get home for me, so they do have that. Bring food or drink for your wait, much better options for food in Anacortes along the way here.
