This is a great place to stay in Cortez on a budget. Great location with access to a major grocery store right across the street and several restaurants. The rooms were clean and kept well. The folks here treated me like family. Literally, every request I made was met with a smile and genuine desire to be of service. They are very kind and family oriented my stay was nice. I had a problem with the fan in my room and the maintenance gentleman was very expedient, friendly and professional in fixing it even in the evening hours. I look forward to staying there again when I'm in the area.

Overall a very unpleasant experience. The room had overpowering fumes from cleaning chemicals. The TV and phone did not work. The pillows were tiny and flat. We had to open the window to air out our ground level room which was facing the parking lot with a lot of foot traffic with people able to easily see in the room. The curtains were falling off the window. We reported the issues and the guy just shrugged and asked of we wanted to switch rooms. We chose not to after hearing another guest complain about similar issues, in addition to a poorly working A/C. We were worried the next room would have worse issues. Seems like they just shuffle people around rather than resolving any of the issues. Over priced and very poorly managed.

Right from the start, we made the mistake of booking the wrong day but the gentleman at the counter could not even look up our name, with ID in hand, to see when we had booked it for. just refused to look us up. Finally got a room and these comments about them being clean. Not true. bottom of our socks were black from walking on the floor. Being a house keeper at one point extremely disappointed they could not even make the towels look presentable. Ended up getting incredibly sick and have had Strep throat ever since we left, both husband and baby have gotten sick too once we left. Pay the extra money for a nice hotel. Dont let the lobby fool you.

We encountered bed bugs here at the Super 8 in Cortez/Mesa Verde, room 108. Horrific experience. Our child, dogs, and my husband and I left immediately after noticing these nests on both of the beds in the room. There was dog food under the mattresses as well. The employees did refund us and didn't give us any issues, but the hotel itself really needs someone cleaning it. We travel across the country once a year but we have never ran into bed bugs before and there were such large nests of them too.

Do not stay here under any circumstance! It's a complete scam. We were driving through the area and arrived late and stayed one night. After we checked out I saw an additional charge of $200 on my card. I called to inquire what this was about and the owner said he charged my card for some bogus excuse of bed damage or something? Completely not true and laughable. Especially since the room wasn't even cleaned when we checked in and the ac was broken. The breakfast is a joke and is just sad. The owner refuses to give me back my $200. I wanted video evidence and photos with time date stamps and room number of this alleged damage and did not get it. I am now contacting my bank and letting everyone know this place is a scam and beware. Just horrible!
