Lauren was AMAZING! Our spring break trip had an unexpected change due to a winter storm. We were supposed to fly into Portland, but instead were routed into Logan Int airport. Because of this, we spent time on the phone changing our Alamo rental and had to pay more due to renting out of state (not in Maine as planned). Lauren greeted us with a smile, bottled water, and even let us pick out a car of our choice due to the unforeseen hassles and extra charges. We ended up with the most incredible Jeep Wrangler - perfect condition, clean, comfortable, and fun to drive. Lauren was so helpful, understanding, and kind. We will only rent from Alamo when in Boston. Thanks for the fun trip!

What a waste of time. I drove there for more than a hour after confirming with Alamo Customer Service that I can switch the car for right class (received lower grade in Raleigh). On the spot I heard that many cars are available, but they are not swapping cars unless there is a mechanical issue. It’s not theirs problem and I should go back to NC. I guess it’s the only Alamo place which is not following Alamo’s policy. We swapped the car for right one in Manchester.

Truly a horrible experience. Please, please, please check your car thoroughly before you drive it off the lot. And take tons of photos and videos. We had the tiniest bit of damage to the front fender that was so hard to notice -- we didn't notice it until we returned the car, and Alamo claimed we caused the damage. Knowing that we only rented the car for a few days and drove in minimal traffic, we found this seriously unlikely and put in a challenge. We even had photo evidence of the car with the damage (I had taken a photo of the front of the car to remember the license plate after we drove it for about an hour and made it to our hotel). But of course, their "unbiased" process somehow showed that we were responsible for the damage. They sent us photos of all angles of the car in their review (not sure what the point of that was), as well as photos of the part of the car that was damaged -- all with no date/time stamps. I'm sorry, but if you're showing me photos of the damage done to the car, what exactly are you proving, unless you have time stamps? We already know the car has damage, that's a given. So if you show me photos of the damage, I would assume these photos are from before we rented the car, which would then prove that we did NOT cause the damage. I would have expected to receive photos of the car WITHOUT damage and time stamped prior to our rental, but no. That's all you get. So nothing is proven, and yet they want to pin a $1000 bill worth of damage on a customer who only showed the utmost respect to their vehicle. Zero transparency. And don't even get me started on the customer support. There's no one to talk to, no one to express your concern to. The claim department exists in a vacuum with no contact to the outside world. It's a great scam! Save yourself the headache and go with a more reputable company than Alamo. Absolute worst experience I've ever had renting a car and I will be sure to not only avoid their services in the future, but I will be an advocate to ensure no one else ends up doing business with this horrible company. Companies that rent out vehicles make their money on loyal, RETURN customers, so it won't take long before they're out of business with the way they run things.

Review: Avoid Alamo Car Rental at All Costs My recent experience with Alamo Car Rental was nothing short of a nightmare, and I strongly urge everyone to avoid using their services. My wife accidentally left her driver's license in one of their cars, and we filed a report immediately. Despite our prompt action, Alamo was completely unhelpful in locating her license. We returned the car at 7:30 am, and after realizing the license was missing and filing the report, Alamo still gave the car to another customer. Instead of placing the car on hold and attempting to locate my wife's license, they continued with their operations as if our issue was of no concern. When they assured us they would contact the new driver to check for the license, they lied and never followed up. My parents, who live in the Boston area, even went to the airport to try and retrieve the license after we filed the report, but they were rejected. No one at the office wanted to help them find the license. This experience clearly shows that if you misplace an item in one of Alamo's cars, they will make no effort to help you retrieve it. Their lack of customer service and empathy was astonishing. I would never recommend Alamo Car Rental to anyone. Save yourself the frustration and choose a company that values its customers and their belongings.

Rented a minivan to move daughter's stuff back from college. The experience was great. The people were efficient, helpful and super friendly and nice. The only issue we had, and this is a problem for all airport rentals, is that it is hard to tell where to go if you are going to the pickup in your own car rather than shuttle from terminals.
