Love it!!! Every year our family goes to Wisconsin and we make sure to visit Paul Bunyan's before we head back to Chicago. Everything is fresh, the service is amazing, it's warm and cozy and makes you feel at home kind of like cracker barrel vibe but better! I also love the homemade fresh donuts that are served when you sit down.. couldn't ask for a better place to end my trip!

Only get to go here when we are on vacation but when up there I try to begin or end or both my vacation with eating the breakfast here! The food is always so good. Service always nice with a smile! The cake sugar donuts... Yea... Wow... Ham, eggs, pancakes, etc. It is a great price with a family style eating. Small portions if you need more just ask! I want one of those dounuts yum...

Paul Bunyan's is a childhood favorite, completely unchanged, and I visit at least once during my October vacation, right before they close for the season. You'll find yourself staring at a huge breakfast, so come hungry. The food is pretty good, though the eggs and potatoes could be nicer. It's a place built to serve crowds in the summer, so this is something I sort of expect. The doughnuts are outstanding, though. Hard to resist! After all these years, the gift shop is kept neat and clean. Bathrooms are ancient and just okay, though nothing gross to worry about.

I cannot remember the last time I had a breakfast brought to my table that was so delicious and fun at the same time. The famous Donuts lived up to all of the height. But beware you cannot eat very many or you will be so full Paul Bunyan himself cannot carry you out. The fried potatoes were my absolute favorite. The scrambled eggs were very soft and I also enjoyed the biscuits and gravy. I did not try the sausage but they do offer sausage links. They do not have bacon. There is a gift shop that you can walk through on your way out and there is a big selection of unique items.

Their Facebook page indicates they're open from 7am-12pm. Super inaccurate. They seem to be closed indefinitely. That part I understand due to current market conditions. What I can't understand is why you can't get them to admit that or post it anywhere (not even a sign on their front door). Their number seems to be disconnected. Why not at least have a voicemail telling customers that you're closed? The "A" in "Shanty" is also falling off on one side of the sign. Overall the property just looks like it hasn't been open or taken care of in months, if I had to guess. Pretty disappointing.
