Though Tennessee is absolutely filled with so many places to enjoy the outdoors. Bowie nature park has a bit of everything for everybody and is enjoyable year round. Fun for the whole family and such a wide range of activities. Hiking, biking, fishing, horseback riding, and more. There is a wonderful nature center and a perfect place to photograph nature. This park is massive. Multiple lakes and trails, parking throughout several pavillions to host an event. Very clean and maintained. Enjoy the beauty of Middle Tennessee at Bowie Nature Park!

Our first time to visit this wonderful park & education center. The Visitors Center / Nature Center is a great starting point for first timers of all ages. The modest size “center” is clearly a busy active educational base camp for a wide variety of teaching & group activities for younger children & active youth. The exhibits in the main room help tell the story of the history of the park and its generous founder. While there is some parking adjacent to the welcome center — you may also choose to park near the amazing nature-inspired playground nearby.

I had a great time at this park. I went for the first time in mid-March 2024. The trails were nice, well maintained, well labeled, and the park looked so fun. People seemed to enjoy the park with dogs or kids. The nature center is closed on Sundays, but looked nice from the outside. I hiked about 4 miles and there were more trails I’ll have to come back for. Horses were not permitted when I went due to muddy conditions, but it seems like a great place for horses in better conditions. I think there’s a few for horses and bikes. The park was free to park and hike though. This is a great outdoor place that feels far from the city while only being about a half hour out of Nashville.

We did 2 trails today, Bowie Loop & Perimeter Trail. It was absolutely breathtaking. Not many people out on the trails since it was raining on & off. Highly recommend either one of the trails or do both!

My girls have a good time at the park. The only thing I can say is people need to pick up their own trash. They have garbage cans everywhere.
