I recently rented a car from the National Car Rental at ABE Airport for the first time as an Executive member, and my experience was disappointing. Unlike other National locations across the country, this one lacks Emerald or Executive Aisles. This means you have to stand in line, talk to an agent, and depend on their mood for vehicle options. Despite being an Executive member, I was only offered an intermediate SUV at best, ranging from a small car like a Nissan Versa to a base trim Kia Sportage. This is not the selection I expected, especially when I noticed higher-end vehicles like Volvos, BMWs, and Audis in the lot, which might typically be found in the Executive Aisle at other locations. It was frustrating that the agent didn’t offer these options, and it felt like they were unfamiliar with the perks that should come with my membership status. Moreover, I was charged extra fees that were not on my initial agreement. It took three phone calls to National to have these charges removed, as the agent at the counter seemed unaware of my reservation details. The lack of Aisle service and the untrained staff who seemed to operate as if they were working for Alamo or Enterprise made this experience quite unsatisfactory. I hope they implement the Aisle system or at least better train their agents to provide appropriate vehicle options to loyal National customers and honor the terms of the rental agreement. Very disappointed with this location. Better save money and rent from Alamo because the experience is going to be the same as with National and there’s no reason to pay extra for National for the same pickup experience at this ABE location.

I needed a car with a lot of leg room on front seat passenger side and made my reservation for a Nissan Maxima which I was told I would have at Lehigh Valley Airport. When we went to pickup the car we were told the Maxima had not been returned and we would have to choose a different car none of which had as much leg room as the Maxima. At that point we have no choice!

I use the National Car Rental counter at ABE/LVI almost weekly and I have been quite impressed with how well this branch is managed. Having used National all over the country and in Europe for the past 5 years, I would submit that this is the best managed business of any National Car agencies. They have all been good, but the customer care at ABE, communication with me and the cleanliness of the cars are exceptional. All of the counter personnel are pleasant, efficient and accommodating...always. I recently lost a Remarkable™ e-pen that costs about $139 to replace. They looked everywhere, found the pen and held it for me until I could pick it up. Above and beyond. I won't use any other car rental company but National anywhere I travel and I have tried them all.

Fast, clean and easy. Even upgraded because as an emerald member, this location does not have an emerald aisle.
